UCLH ICU Chest drain half day course 18th June 26

Afternoon teaching on the theoretical and practical features of emergency chest drain insertion. This course is only open to UCLH and other North Central London hospital employees only. Do not apply if you are not currently working in these hospitals either in the critical care, anaesthesia or medical departments. Open only to CT2+ only at present

Afternoon of teaching to cover chest drain insertion for those expected to do it as a medical emergency.  

It will take place in the Bay 5 education suite in critical care with practical sessions using multiple simulators.   

1 hour introductory lecture followed by round robins covering basics of lung ultrasound, ultrasound guided seldinger insertion, surgical chest drain insertion and suturing practice. 

Aimed for those new to chest drains and those who want a refresher.  Ideal for critical care professionals, but open to our anaesthesia and medical colleagues.  Only for critical care, anaesthesia and medical registrars or ACCS trainees currently working in NCL. Certificates for attendance given. Not suitable for DOPS for evidence of insertion in patients. 

 There will be a more open advert to include SHOs nearer the date if spaces remain from 05/06.
