Course Outline: A two-day theory and practical course integrating anatomy, pathophysiology, principles of normal movement and evidence base into the complex assessment and management of ataxia.

Target Audience: The course is for physiotherapists and occupational therapists working in neurology who wish to develop skills in the assessment and treatment of patients with ataxia. Previous completion of the introductory to normal movement courses run by BBTA is recommended but not essential.
Learning Objectives:
On completion of the course participants will:
- Be able to use their understanding of the neuroanatomy and physiology of the cerebellum to develop their assessment and treatment planning for patients with ataxia.
- Be able to use a systematic clinical reasoning and assessment framework for patients with ataxia.
- Develop the specificity of their handling skills to increase postural stability as a basis for selective movement and function.
- Be able to select appropriate outcome measures to demonstrate change in their ataxic patients.
