Empowering Senior Nurses for Specialist Roles in Haematology Care
This two-day masterclass delivered by UCLH is designed for experienced haematology nurses (Band 6 and above) who aspire to progress into advanced practice roles such as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). With haematology services evolving rapidly, nurses are increasingly taking on leadership roles in diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient support. This series provides the knowledge, confidence, and practical insights needed to thrive in these advanced positions.
Delegates will gain a comprehensive understanding of patient pathways, from initial diagnosis. The sessions will showcase how advanced nursing skills can transform patient care, including nurse-led clinics, prescribing, and service development. You’ll also explore the psychological, ethical, and systemic challenges of haematology care, and learn strategies to overcome them.
Target Audience: Band 6 nurses or above who are interested or aspiring to become a CNS or ANP with at least 12 months haematology experience

Day 2 Highlights – Relapse, Treatment Options & Availability
- Case-Based Discussions: Multiple Myeloma, Leukaemia, and Lymphoma pathways
- Difficult Conversations: A psychologist’s perspective on supporting patients
- Inequalities in NHS Resources: Understanding systemic challenges
- Patient Perspective: Living through relapses and treatments
