Recent Advances in Fetal Medicine - 4th Annual Meeting

For the fourth consecutive year, the Fetal Medicine team at UCLH has organised a study day with recognised experts to discuss the latest advances in fetal medicine.

The day will focus on evidence-based information with the aims to improve the quality of care provided to pregnant women and their babies. There will be case presentations and significant opportunities to discuss the challenges that could present in your clinic on a daily basis.

The day is ideally suited to midwives, sonographers and doctors with an interest in fetal medicine.

Topics will include

• Open fetal surgery for spina bifida
• Prenatal repair of spina bifida - a neurosurgical perspective
• Severe early onset fetal growth restriction: prediction, management and outcome
• Late fetal growth restriction: diagnosis and management
• Scanning the fetal brain (neurosonography) – screening and diagnosis
• MRI of the fetal brain and case discussion
• Regenerative medicine for the fetus and neonate
• Consent post Montgomery
• Screening for cardiac anomalies – tips and tricks
• High order multiple pregnancies
• Renal pelvis dilatation diagnosis and outcome

Prof Paolo De Coppi - Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Reader and Head of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine at the UCL Institute of Child Health in London

Prof Anna David - Head of the Research Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Institute for Women's Health, UCL. Consultant in Obstetrics Maternal and Fetal Medicine at UCLH.

Prof Paul Winyard - Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Nephrology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and Head of the Nephro-Urology Research Unit at the Institute of Child Health (ICH).

Mr Dominic Thompson - Consultant in Paediatric Neurosurgery and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health
